8cm DVDR/RW/RAM

products per page

The 8cm optical disc format was originally used for music CD singles. Similarly, the manufactured 8cm DVD discs were originally used for music videos and are also known as "MiniDVD". An 8cm/MiniDVD can be played back in most DVD players that are tray loaded. The trays on players and DVD drives have an inner ring where the 8cm disc in centered for loading in the player. Most slot loading players cannot use this format; one exception, however, is the Playstation 3, which officially supports 8cm discs. Recordable 8cm discs are commonly used in DVD-based camcorders. Depending on variant, these discs can offer up to 5.2 GB of storage space.
